2013 Mercedes A Class

The 2013 Mercedes A Class resembles a five-door hatchback and features an aggressive, yet extremely appealing exterior design. The most obvious rivals for Merc's new A-Class (2013) are the 1-Series and the new A3. Taking into account the design of the new A-Class, if Mercedes decides to put it on the same market segment as them, BMW and Audi are in serious trouble. Just imagine how the AMG version will look like. Mercedes is going to sell the 2013 A-Class with various petrol and diesel engines, with outputs ranging from 80 kW (109 hp) to 155 kW (211 hp). Some of those powertrains will offer very low CO2 emissions, of just 99 g/km. The new Mercedes A Class (2013) measures 4292 mm in length, 1780 mm in width and 1433 mm in height.

It comes with a sporty exterior design and for those customers looking for a more aggressive styling, an AMG body kit. The new A class is not just good-looking, but also aerodynamically efficient. The 1.6-liter engine will be available with the new CAMTRONIC technology, which basically reduces fuel consumption during partial load. The diesel range of the new Mercedes A-Class (2013) will include the A180 CDI (80 kW / 109 hp and 250 Nm), the A200 CDI (100 kW / 136 hp and 300 Nm), and the A220 CDI (125 kW / 170 hp and 350 Nm).

All versions of the new A Class will come with ECO start/stop and a six-speed manual transmission as standard. Optionally, Mercedes will sell the 2013 A-Class with the 7G-DCT dual-clutch automatic gearbox.

In terms of safety, the 2013 A Class comes with all the usual systems offered by Mercedes. Apart from those (detailed below), the new A Class (2013) comes as standard with the radar-based COLLISION PREVENTION ASSIST system.
